well I had an LV pipe fitted at the same time, but yeah I think it makes a difference, gonna give it a run out over the weekend, so far I've only been to work and back which is 6 miles through Chester City Centre and 70mph stretches on the A41.
Gonna take it to North Wales this weekend though

I just installed the J Costa last Tuesday. It was a snap and you don't need any special tools other than an impact wrench. The stock piece has splines in the center of the hub, the J Costa has none. That puzzled me for a second or 2 but then I realized it was intentional and finished up the job. I love the difference so far, takes off much faster from standing stop and faster acceleration while cruising too. RPMs are up a good bit over stock but have yet to hit 9000. The bike sucked down some gas at first but that was mainly because of me twisting it everywhere I went. At first it is hard to resist, it's such an improvement. I have eased off since the last fillup and look to be on track to almost normal gas mileage. |

Got my j.costa and fitted it on monday...Errrrm.... I dunno ???? been riding it for the past few evenings and don't know if i like it !! the main issue thats bugging me is the initial lag on pull off , you have got to have it over 3000rpm to pull away. If you nail it from the off it's definately quicker..but you gota rev it and the other thing is if your trying to crawl up a hill in slow traffic you gota keep it reving and it sounds naff .. On the go and in midrange yes its good but i don't think its quicker top end than standard infact i would say it's slower !!.. I've even taken it back out and removed two opposing weights and it didn't seem to make much difference..I've even put the standard one back in and out again just to compare (getting quicker 15mins from start o finish,in/out)..I'm happy but this giving it loads of revs to pull away is winding me up..and just to get up a kerb you gotta rev the nuts off it !!..Am i missing something here or are these j.costas all like this. ??  |

| Make sure you have the right weights in it. You can get a heavier weight and they make such a difference. I ordered mine through J Costa UK at www.jcostacompetition.co.uk and they were great. Such a help, no special tools needed, just a torque wrench, make sure they are torqued up to manufacturers spec. These variators are awesome!!! They get you there quicker and hold you there even up hill. Got to try them for yourself!!! |

I hve the costa and the leo vince with the motorsport power booster box.
Good off the shelf mods. The J.Costa was the single biggest change in the feel of the scoot. even when I had the stock exhaust the costa helped. It just keeps pulling from the line up to the top speed. Fun.
