Be careful how you pack the rucksack Mont.
My mate came off his Lammy last year, going round an island (hit diesel), wearing a rucksack. The weight of it pulled him over & he landed on his back. Unfortunately his boots were packed inside & they cracked several of his ribs. He was off work for a few months, in great pain.
If you have to wear a rucksack, pack soft items next to your back incase it ever happens to you.
I would personally never wear a rucksack. Panniers for me any day, it also keeps the centre of gravity low down for better handling.
And before you ask, it doesn't make it much harder to filter either Twisted Evil Wink

Bloody heck Monty.........ditch the blinking rucksack mate, I defo would not have owt like that on my back for all them miles thats for sure as it can't be safe. Confused
Panniers as Chevy says are the best bet as center of gravity lower making handling easier. Wink
You'll ache like sh*t carrying all that around like a mule train. Evil or Very Mad
