If you read michelins site, it still says to balance them... i think ive had this argument before
If its round and spins fast it needs to be balanced... thats the end of. |

well took both my wheels in for a re-balance after my handling problems in france and my extremely slow air loss (4psi loss over 48hrs) that i thought was a leaky valve.........
turns out i had a puncture as the rear tyre came back plugged, this along with the re-balancing of both wheels........................(they both had different weights on when i got them backl so i know they've been done)
three English pounds in the tea fund
now just got to load the scooter up and do some speed to try them out again _________________

What about ScootRS tubeless rims... do they need balancing? It makes sense to do so but I haven't heard of anyone doing it. Any thoughts? |

These rims are normally fitted to trad scoots which are agricultural in their original design so I doubt balancing the wheels would have any major effect as they would still wobble into every bend

A lot of the lads in my club have gone to tubless on their TS1's and are all raving about them one lad had a 3" nail go into his tyre last year on the way to a rally (at high speed) and it gently went down .....normally would have had him off .....me I'm too tight so persevering with my old chrome ones ......until the next time !!!

Good to hear that other people are chuffed with 'em. Sounds like they do the job well.
I finally decided to get some after watching a lad from our club, who's wheel literally went bang and blew the side of the tyre out. He and his daughter would've been a complete mess if a car had've been coming the other way. It was a white-walled sava though. |

When getting your rear wheel balanced, do you leave the disc hub on or off?
I am getting conflicting advice _________________

Doesnt matter really the disc and hub are already balanced to a degree so wont make much difference, a lot of garages balance on the hub as older balancers dont have the attachments for these wheel types, and using the hub makes it work. |
