You don't have to, but it saves rough running and speeds up the learning process.... On the 300 you have to do it with the diagnostic box now
Is the battery holding a good charge?
And a PM will pass an mot anyway, so why change it? |

Theres a difference between road legal and MOT passable
For the MOT standards now, it just must NOT say....
"OFF ROAD USE ONLY"
"NOT FOR ROAD USE"
.. and anything similar. If it doesnt say that its a pass, if noisy then theres a advisory note about being louder than original system.
Also worth mentioning is... if its got NOT FOR ROAD USE marked on it, you can just cover it with a piece of tape so it cant be read and its also a pass as a MOT inspector cant remove it |

Strange things M.O.t's, as Cheeky Thomas says, what will pass an m.o.t may not necessarily be road legal. I know what he means, coz I'm an M.O.T tester too ( cars ). |
