this is the black thing. im pretty sure when i fitted the belt the whole thing was smooth. now it has massive gorge marks just like the tracks you see on the top of the belt.
weird indeed but i dont see how it happened. maybe we will never know
when i took the coveroff i had to try hard to remove loads of belt that was stuck to the roller thing. if you see the belt on the floor thats how it was around that roller thing _________________

Nope the variator fits straight on... its fitted to nexus from 2006
The X9s have a different clutch, slightly bigger, and so use a longer belt. |

If the black guide has big wear marks then it couldve been the problem all along, obviously as the belt runs down the pulley it actually runs on that so its spinning like a crazy thing.... if thats got lines in it, they will be trying to cut the belt the whole time, which could be the reason it looks like someones sliced the belt apart
If i were you i would take it easy until youve replaced that |

what im saying is the black guide has marks like on the top of the belt. so even if it was rubbing it would have ripped the bottom of the belt apart as the bits that came apart are from the top of the belt.
it cant have happened until after it snapped its impossible _________________
