How the feck do you not get fuel everywhere when filling up... all inside the luggage holder tub thing etc...

I'm in the habit now of wrapping some paper around the nozzle when filling up.

Point the nozzle to the back of the scooter, with the Handle over the bucket, and you should be ok.

1) put the nozzle in
2) pull the trigger (but not all the way)
3) wait till it clicks
4) stop
5) take nozzle out and replace in holder provided.
6) go and pay (optional)

or if your a chav in a clapped out nova. fill cans + tank to the brim and then drive off!!!

I just remove underseat if it's got anything in it, if not I don't bother.

I always remove my underseat storage tray. You can be as careful as you like, but that won't help you when you've got a dodgy pump that doesn't cut off when it should.

Is that not a bit dodgy if the fuel spills out over a hot exposed engine? Shocked

Petrol needs a spark to ignite.
You can drop petrol onto a hot surface all day long and it still wont go bang - but yeah, I still wouldn't be too sure that removing the tray and risk spilling petrol on the engine is a good idea Confused

true petrol does need a spark to ignite and bearing that in mind i'd much rather have a few drops of petrol spill onto my engine because i took my storage thingy out rather than have my petrol soaked tent / flight jacket / underpants explode in a fireball at the rally because i didn't Wink Laughing

i think we just need to be careful when we fill up, there are some dodgy pumps out there Mad

Geez... I think you're getting a bit carried away, gents. The worst that's gonna happen is petrol dripping over the rear plastic mudguard. It's not like I'm suggestion you point the fuel nozzle at a hot engine and then pull the trigger.
