But back to the topic at hand....

Yes the battery doesnt sound to have much stamina if its dying that quickly, but im not sure its the entire problem, not if its starting up, then dying, and then still trying to start for another few times before the battery goes dead...

It sounds like theres something making it hard to start, and the batterys being abused trying to start it, which is taking its toll.... constantly nearly flattening a battery to get it to start, then it having to be charged back up just to be reflattened at the next start wont do it much favours over time...

Has it come up with any error codes on the diagnostic box? Is it charging properly? Is the ECU on the latest firmware? Does the starter have a decent earth as occasionally they are poor from the factory... theres a list of potentials....

I'd agree. It normally has enough juice to start, and usually first time.

But i often then have to hold the throttle slightly open to give it enough revs to stop it from cutting out.

If it cuts out, quite often it will start ok 2nd time and keep going by itself.

If it cuts out again, i'll be lucky to be able to start it 3rd time, and after that forget it! Crying or Very sad

Thanks for the tips. No idea about error codes on the diagnostic box?? and no idea about the firmware update??

I'd be fairly sure the places i've had it serviced in its first year haven't done any updates (oooh, cue for new thread methinks...)

I've had the alternator checked and been told its all in order.
