Got home yesterday and there was a smell of burning rubber comming off the GTS ??

The tyres looked fine with no obvious scrapeing or wear ?

I do not have a mudflap fitted so that rules that out

Any ides Folks

I get the same on mine, I've just had the belt and rollers done and they discovered that the crank nut had come loose and part of the variator was damaged so I guess the belt would've been slipping a bit which would explain the smell. I also have a 140 rear tyre on and I had to trim a little bit of the hugger away as it was rubbing.

I had this problem on our ET4. Turned out to be the axle support bearing (Grease packed sealed bearing) went bad and melted the rubber seals

Maybe a left field thought but check your coolant hoses.

Never gave mine a thought til I fitted a PM pipe and the hose fouled and melted on it.

I'm guesing the smell on mine is coming from the belt, gave it a good old sniff test!!! Need to get the cover off and have look inside. I get a bit of a rattle on tick over, the clutch nut and variator nut are tight I've checked them.

Mines always done this too, defo not the belt as I replaced it at 8000 miles and it looked fine no real sign of wear (so I've kept it as a spare).

It could be a bit of transmission smell, mixture of warm belt and clutch dust, but more likely just a super heated catalyst in the exhaust stinking away... Another reason for a PM pipe! Haha.
