Just purchased new today from dealer. Few mins driving away I kept thinking these handlebars aren't straight. Some Pdi they gave this scoot I thought. Do I simply straighten these up myself or would I be best to get it done under warranty at 1000km service. Only out by an inch. The thing is that the dealer I bought it from is a 140 mile round trip from my home . Should I notify dealer now or leave it till service. Question Sad

Was tempted by few hundred pounds in price difference I'm afraid to say. Did think about buying locally but with warranty and couple of hours journey away I thought I should have no problem. Will any Piaggio dealer take on a fault found with new scoot or would it have to be rectified at original dealer where purchased ? (Live and learn the saying goes). Sad Rolling Eyes

personally i'd take the money you've saved as a bonus and use A&R in lowestoft from now on, i'd would've thought CT would treat it as a warranty issue anyway Wink

as far as i'm aware warranty work doesn't have to be done at the dealer you bought the scooter from.

i did send you a PM, check your messages.

To follow the letter of the warranty, its not covered as its not a material or mechanical defect with the part... its the dealers fault they are like that, not piaggios, they are supposed to be done at PDI but werent, piaggio didnt do the PDI....

... its like wanting a tyre changed under warranty as its got a puncture.

In both cases, piaggio have no control of what happens so cant be held responsible Wink

But if ya want to book it in ill do it anyway, just dont tell the management or youll leave skint Wink

At least we know why it was cheaper elsewhere... doesnt sound like it spent 1/2 a day in the workshop getting PDI'd before it came out... gotta save the seller a few hundred quid easy enough Wink

Wonder if they greased the steering head bearings as well... unlikely if the steering wasnt straight... does it look like its had drivecase bolts, air filter bolts etc copper slipped?? Or will all those be seized solid in 10,000km time when it needs a service....

Won't be using the dealer again for sure even if he was next door to me. Have corrected the headset alignment myself thanks cheeky thomas. Hope I do not have any future problems with scoot from now on. Scoot did have an unusual tickover of a steady beat of high and low revving at closed throttle position, when I stopped after the first 20 miles at a constant run of 50mph. What was causing this out of curiosity ? Switching engine off and starting up again just cured it ?
