Waterproof Documents Case
ok it sounds a bit 007 but presenting a soaking wet passport or ferry booking printout to a bloke in a hut isn't good, nor is trying to read a soaking wet map, breakdown phone number or set of directions, that's where the waterproof documents case (or map case) comes in.
designed for hill walkers or orienteering folk they suit our needs perfectly, a roll top seal with velcro to secure makes sure water stays out and the stuff inside stays dry
get it out as you queue for the ferry, tuck it under a luggage strap or sit on it and no more fumbling around to find your documents, they even come with a bit of string so you can hang it round your neck
mine is A4 size but A5 (A4 folded in half) would be fine i'm sure.
as with most things you get what you pay for, "ORTLIEB" gear is about as good as you can get and not too expensive
to order on-line just do a search for "ortlieb map case" and when ordering make sure you select A4 or A5 size (A3 is massive and A6 passport size, too small really) look to pay around £10
