more right hand bends and roundabouts (clockwise therefore like a right hand bend) than left hand bends???

Yea it's a right hand turn pattern. It's the left side that wears out first on this side of the Atlantic. It's because your right hand turns are done at a higher speed than lefts (generally speaking) that the abrasion factor is higher. Most left hand turns that you make are sharper and/or from a stop and therefore slower in execution with much less tire scrubbing.

balancing a loose wheel not having a tyre fitted cost £6 at the place i use.

if your scooter doesn't wobble thru the handlebars then leave having the balancing done until you have new tyres fitted, and specify you want them balanced, some tyre places don't do it to scooter wheels because they think they're all mopeds and balancing won't matter, best thing go to a bike friendly tyre fitter.

also when taking a loose wheel to the tyre place a bit of masking tape on one of the wheel spokes with an arrow showing direction of rotation is a good idea. if you use ultraseal another bit of tape with "ultraseal" written on it is a good idea as they can get a bit narked if they get covered in it as a surprise!!

Having you front wheel balanced certainly wouldn't hurt, but it won't help with the wear pattern. I had mine balanced and it took two small weights - I have not noticed a difference.

If it's the front tyre, have you had the forks checked?
A pot-hole can send them out of true.
You might want to get a dealer to check frame alignment as well.
If it weren't for the GT/GTs wobbles, you could try no handed at a slow speed to see if the scoot pulls one way or another.
I've had scooters where they were a little way out and you tend to ride to compensate for it, and that can show as uneven wear.

I do a lot of miles and you will get this from the camber of the road, (and I weigh 17 stone). I use sticky michelin pilot sports i get quite a few punctures travelling central London so longevity isnt my issue, but you could change to a harder compound if you dont do a lot of cornering.

The standard savas are cheaper and hold the road ok, SO DONT WRITE THEM OFF AS A OPTION

Just avoid CHEAP s*** v rubbers as they will give steeering wobble due to their construction - you can even feel this as you run your hand round the tyre.

I have just replaced my front tyre because it was badly worn on the right. I am quite sure this is due to road camber, and not my cornering style.

Need to swap tyres with a scooterist in Europe or the States when they are half-way through their life.

This tyre was a Pirelli, the original on the scoot, and had done 15000 kilometers. The new one is also a Pirelli.
