no you dont have to do anything, just diconect the battery when ur fitting it and when ur done reconect the battery and start the scoot, the ecu will learn the pipe, or if you just ride it, the ecu eill learn it eventually, but im sure cheeckytom will tell you the best way to do it as he is a piaggio mechanic. _________________ Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

If your after the ultimate in power gains then yes improving the airflow will help, but keeping it within the ECUs limits is tricky without adding fueling modules and the such... unless you going down the road of major tuning with CC increases, gas flowing etc the improvement from a filter change will be small and not readily noticeable other than noise...
On older bikes the reason the K&N filter was often a must do modification was the fact when you fitted a can on them it made em run rich so they popped and farted when made to accelerate, and the free flow filter cured this in most cases.
However on modern machines with ECU controlled fueling it all gets sorted by itself... |

So what is the feeling now with the Leo, One of the lads in our club is considering one. Are you still happy and does it give anything at all? _________________

I've had the leo vince fitted for about 4 months on my gts. it's significantly faster off the line than the pm which i had before. not sure about top end though - either the same or the pm is just ahead.
quality is holding up well and i ride in all weathers.
a bit quieter than the pm, but that suits me fine. i'd say it sounds nicer than the pm which wasn't very tuneful to my ears - just loud!
overall i much prefer it to the pm but if i was 10 years younger i'd probably prefer the pm! |

Quite a good summary that... and roughly my opinion too.
Less boy racer than a PM, more like a tuneful stainless standard replacement.... |
