Hullo - which 'medium screen' are you talking about? I've seen a post on fitting a med Givi (http://www.modernvespa.com/forum/topic18062.html) but that one looks too tall - would get in my view (5' 9") and I don't want that - also, doesn't look like it gives any hand relief (ooer).
I only need about 6 inches up (this is like a Benny Hill sketch) it's out wide I would prefer more. |

The normal givi medium screen has hand guards built in as well... they also do a shorter screen.
Piaggio do a medium and large screen... i can just see over the medium, but some people have cut a few cms off the top to help if your a little bit shorter.
The genuine piaggio medium screen comes with new dash top cover and has stabilizing bars to make the screen proper rigid, where as the medium givi just uses the std small screen fixings... ive heard of issues with the Givi screen flexing a lot (read some of the posts on the MP3 owners club)... but it seems rare and could be lousy fitting. |

Great would love to see those pics!
Can you get the Piaggio Medium in the UK? Would you have a link or know what I should search for (couldn't find it in Google just now).
The Givi one didn't look like it would protect the hands (if the one in the link I posted was the Givi you are talking about).
Then - what do I know, I've been riding my MP3 for 80 miles and that's my first pair of wheels!...Er...trio of wheels!
Hmm... maybe handguards?... |

and i DON'T mean those fecking hideous "hippo hands" fabric pieces of shit, street cred straight down the toilet with those mothers _________________

Givi do a small screen thats 16cm taller than the std fitted screen which doesnt have handguards....
Then they do the medium screen that i can just see over (im just over 6 foot) it has hand guards...
Then theres Piaggios medium screen.... loads in the UK, got about 3 at my work as the most popular... similar to the Givi one with handguards, but with stronger mountings and extra metal frame work. |

Brill, CheekyT, thanks for that info and pics!
As I said, I'm a noob - that Givi screen, to me, doesn't look like it goes out wide enough the 'cover' the hands, but I guess the airflow is effected enough to help your hands?
I'll wait to see the Piaggio medium too I think - thanks for the offer of the PDI pics!
Do you (or doea anyone) know if the handguards Maver speaks of will work for an MP3? I'm sure those handlebar covers seemed a great idea at the time, but mod-wise? What a pain! |

Piaggios medium screen is Part Number 653185 and retails @ £109.99
These 2 pictures are the piaggio screen, notice the bars coming up from the dash panel... these come with the kit, and so does the new dash panel with holes so no need to drill yours....
The hand guards deflect wind very well, and reduce the cold on your hands.
The Fuoco has some handguards, but they are for crash protection more than wind protection... you cant fit them to the MP3 as it doesnt have naked handlebars, it has cowlings... this is the biggest problem when trying to fit any guards to the MP3.... |

Yeah thats pretty much it on a Givi screen...
If its the piaggio theres a little bit more to do, as you need to fit the metal bars as well... but its dead easy. |

When you have screen off, and are looking at the front of the bike, youll see the main ignition relays to the upper LH corner... take a feed off one of them...
The relays will have full time 12v feeds or engine running live feeds, depending how you want it to be wired.
If i remember the furthest back to the LH side is the main beam relay so will be fine... but any of the relays feeds will provide enough power for sat nav as its milli-amps they need. |
