I've really wanted the 500 since it came out but can't justify the cost. Then see the new 300 and thought I'd get one.So ordered it at the dealer this morning.
I've had a few runners and a drag . I'm really looking forward to it. What is the top end Chevy and how does your nexus compare to the GTS250? Can you get aftermarket stuff for the Nexus 250 like pm pipes etc.
When i ordered it the very limited brochure the dealer had showed a black one with two head lights but one on top of the other but thats not coming to the UK just red, red or red with the two headlights side by side. |

The nexus has never had 2 lights above each other, not even abroad... sounds more like the GP i would guess.
The 300 is only available in red for the UK for now, in italy they get black and grey too.

Its in italian but you can see the colours... |

Top end of my Nexus 250 is 150 KPH on the clock (93 MPH on the digital readout). I find it to be slightly quicker than a GTS250, both in acceleration & top end (this is on a standard scoot).
Aftermarket parts for the engine are the same as the GTS (for obvious reasons); exhaust, variator, big valve kits etc. _________________

Must have been my poor eyes ref the version with headlight. I have to admit i scoured the web for some 300 info and all i could find was italian sites...and I don't speak or read Italian.
Anyhow, Reds good for me . Thanks for the info Chevy. |

The Nexus is better streamlined at the front for obtaining a slightly higher speed. I've sold my GTS 250 (two weeks ago) and I'm hoping to collect my new Nexus 250 next week. |

New Nexus still languishing in Piaggio-World. Because the time scale is leaning towards the 1st September, and my new Nexus has yet to appear on the 'Added to the lorry' spreadsheet, I have discussed delaying the delivery until the new plate date. So it's the September emergence into the sunshine of north west England that will see the delivery of the bike.
A question for Cheeky Thomas sent via pm. |

There will be a slight delay as dont forget its the italian holiday

I was told today that the bike is due to be dropped off the back of the van next Wednesday. Problems between London, Switzerland and Italy have b*gg*rred up the transmission of aforementioned bike to North West Inglund. I hope to be on the bike and on the road on 1st September. I've even got a registration number!! Apparently it is so special that it is worth more than 10 Nexii together, but only in Belugistan. _________________ A Cripple is someone who thinks Disabled People can't ride motorbikes |

I will phone tomorrow (Thursday) because the Insurance Certificate which was posted to the showroom last Thursday has yet to arrive !!!
I phoned the Insurance Office and they were going to send a fresh Certificate yesterday or today, to the Dealership, depending on how quickly they can get it through their postal department.
So, I'm waiting to have one phone conversation with the dealer tomorrow. He did say that the bike was expected today, (Wednesday) when I spoke to him yesterday. (Tuesday) Is the bike there and is the Insurance certificate there too?
I'll be taking the Twin Horns and the Optimate Permanent Lead to them tomorrow anyway.
I think I might have a job persuading them to fit the twin horns though. They seem very sluggish in their acceptance of an additional job to do during the PDI.
Just how difficult is it to fit the twin horns? Is access to the space behind the front cover a fiddly, messy job?
Is there an alarm Relay accessible under the front panels, like the GTS? I don't want an alarm, but having a ready made socket available to connect other things into it would be nice. _________________ A Cripple is someone who thinks Disabled People can't ride motorbikes |

Insurance Certificate arrived at Turners today. Second attempt!
The bike will not arrive until Monday or Tuesday next week!
The company who transport the machines have let down my dealer. We're a bit out of the way for just a couple of machines to be delivered and "what's the hurry?"
My dealer has 'spoken' to Piaggio and made his, and my views clear!!!! We were told that the machines would be here on 14th August. The delivery people seem to work from a different calender. The machines were shown on the computer screen as being on the wagon, but when the wagon didn't arrive, phone calls were made. Hence the delay. _________________ A Cripple is someone who thinks Disabled People can't ride motorbikes |
