After defending Scorpion Pipes on this here forum, it now time for me to take a large slice of humble pie.
Returning from work, along the M20, and having literally just overtaken a German HGV, the GTS suddenly cut out on me!
Thankfully I was able to cruise onto the hard-shoulder and restart the scoot.
The rest of the short journey home was horrendous, the GTS felt sluggish and 'clogged up' and the journey was accompanied by a strange noise coming from the exhaust.
Upon arrival at home I discovered this had happened to the exhaust!
Still not sure where the £2 coin came from!!!
The weird thing is that the hole is on the top of the exhaust and seeing that the pipe moves with the engine/suspension it can't have been caused by banging against anything, so the question is what would cause it to blow a hole in itself? |

Looking at the fibres it appears that they have been blown outward, perhaps a backfire caused it to weaken? whatever its a bad way to make an exhaust! glad your in one piece though

They might have used a bad batch of carbon fibre, looks like it did nt cure off properly, send scorpion your photo and see what they think

Spoken tot he dealer I bought it from and with no quibble or fuss he's agreed to exchange it for a stainless steel end-can.
This carbon fibre one is being sent back to Scorpion by him - I await their verdict with interest! |
