Ok, so since it went in to have the TomTom fitted (the electrics plug into the ignition/immobiliser cable) the immobiliser light is on all the time. When it used to flash to indicate the immobiliser in on, it now pulses brighter, but is still on all the time.

The dealers are stumped, but have said there is no 'error' diagnostic. It returns a code in a range that is used by Piaggio engineers and they say 'doesn't concern' the dealer - probably an Italian-English translation weirdness, but it sounds like it indicates something like "there is something drawing power on the immobiliser line".

So - all seems well, but it's annoying! The alarm I have fitted uses the light to indicate stuff, and I now have no idea what it's saying and besides that it's pretty dang bright and distracting when riding.

No big deal I guess, but does anyone know what it really means and what might be done about it?

The dealer is trying to prize more info out of the Italians, but didn't hold out much hope of a good explaination...

Run this one by me again Shocked

Theyve wired the tomtom into the immobilizer Confused If so be very careful as its a few £££s worth of electrics Wink

I wouldve taken the power from the main beam relay as its got a direct battery feed..

Is it the proper Piaggio TomTom fitting kit? Sounds like somethings backfeeding and putting power somewhere it shouldnt....

It's a proper kit and Piaggio instructed them what to attach it to - curiously enough it didn't have the light on tonight when I set the alarm it is flashing on to fully off a normal.

Apparently the immobiliser line has a socket that this bit goes into - they didn't have to cut any wires, just plug the 'extension' piece of the kit in there.

*shrug*
