was cleaning my GTS 250 at work today when i noticed a 2 inch bit of black rubber tube/pipe hanging down. if you look at the scoot from the side with the side stand in front of you and go right, to the end of the footplate and down, then its there. its clean on the end and dosnt appear to attach to anything? or is it supposed to?

that's "possibly," (comma) meaning it possibly was the fuel overflow and not the battery breather....

after the comma i said.......

"both fuel tank overflow pipe AND battery breather pipe are down there"

the battery breather is directly under the battery compartment, the fuel overflow is near the trannyside passenger footpeg along with a crankcase breather pipe.

most battery breather pipes are clear whereas crank breathers and fuel overflows are black, but this isn't a gloden rule Wink

correct

the pipe is connected one end to something and open to atmosphere the other end to drain or breathe depending on which pipe it is we are looking at, if it pisses fuel all over your bowling shoes when you don't stop the petrol filler nozzle on the first click it's the fuel overflow pipe, the other 2 pipes are battery breather and crankcase breather, all 3 are open to atmosphere.
