1) alternate lights come on for normal beam and high beam ....correct ??
Yes as std but i normally make both come on when on full beam as without it the lights lack a little wow factor
2) filling up with petrol tips?????
Generally best to drive to a petrol station, use the pump, pay then leave, you can try filling up and driving off but its best to wear dark clothing and change the number plate first
3) were is the best place to take a 12v feed for socket from ??
Under the seat direct off the battery if you fitting a under seat socket, or under the screen is a bank of 4 relays, one is the headlight relay which has a good 12v supply feed going to it which is ignition controlled
4) when will my exshaust stop smelling ??
Normally about 400 miles unless you get a carrier bag hit it while riding... then its ages...
5) when will my chessy grin go away
When you either... A)stop playing with yourself or B)get bored and realise you want a GP800 as its more of a mans bike |

Are you sure your ready for my drawings I certainly aint no rolf harris
Basically pop the Dip/Main light switch out of the handlebar covers, you can do it without taking the covers off....
.. then just cut and solder the wiring as per the diagram below, ive not mentioned wire colours as they change on models etc, but it makes no odds as long as you wire it like below... works on the Fuoco as well and gives ALL 5 lights on when on main beam.
The picture assumes your looking at the switch from the front.
The wire that now comes out of the switch but goes nowhere needs insulating as when the engine is running it will be live... so a bit of heatshrink would be nice. |

The MP3 bulbs if i remember right are H1s and the sidelights W5W capless.
Autoexpress did a bulb test and the overall winners were the Philips X-treme +50% bulbs which are about £30 a pair in halfrauds.
Or if ya wanna be fancy and have too much money get a HID kit from HIDs4U (not a nasty cheap chinese ebay kit or youll kill the modules dead in a matter of weeks) |

Didn't change the bulbs, no, I found the light pretty good, except on main beam, which is 'fixed' with the both-at-once mod.
Which bulbs would be best, d'you think?
Reckon I won't be doing much night riding (Hasselhoff?) for a while anyway. _________________ Do two and 1/4 rallies mean I'm not a scoot noob anymore? |
