Changing the exhaust has altered the fueling, and it sounds to be needing a little tweaking in the higher rpms.

Adding a race pipe wont move the rev limiter...

If it was on the limiter at 85mph with std pipe, it will be on the limiter in the same conditions at 85mph with any exhaust fitted.

The only thing to effect the speed possible at the rev limiter is final drive ratio and drivebelt condition. Wink

No rev limiter will still come in at exactly the same RPM... only the ECU controls the rev limiter. Its a fixed factor.

If it seemed to do reach a higher topspeed before coming in, it meant your old belt was slipping. Wink But the actual RPM it came in at will be EXACTLY the same.

NO NO NO, The rev limiter cuts on engine revs irrespective of where the drive belt is on the pulleys. If you put 6 gram rollers in it would you expect the same top speed as 14 gram.........Changing the belt will make a difference, as will rollers, as will an increase in power. The max speed is acheived at the very edge of the variator pulley.

Thats what i said Wink

Fitting exhausts, or belts etc wont move the rev limiter, its a fixed factor built into the ECU programming.

So i was saying this quote is wrong the rev limiter will be coming in at exactly the same RPM as before, if it seems to have been raised as its now doing a higher speed, then the old belt must have been slipping allowing the engine to rev higher.... For example only

85mph @ 8,000 rpm but with new belt its doing 90mph @ 8,000rpm as it was loosing 5mph at the same rpm through the worn belt slipping slightly due to reduced width.

If you added a matching contra spring and didnt suffer belt slip as a result, and the engine had enough torque to be able to take the higher gearing so quickly, then yes you would get the same top speed.

Roller weight VS contra spring tension contol rate of gear change only... not actual topspeed. Go put 20gram rollers in, it wont be any quicker than with 14grams. As if the belt can get to the outer edge of the pulley its at its maximum speed.

Top speed is determined by Torque and drive ratio. The more torque you have, the higher gearing that can be run, the higher gearing means higher speeds.
