I have caved in to popular opinion and took the top box off that came already fitted on my GTS, I could take the Pizza hut delivery jibes no more so I am going to see exactly how much I miss it.

Things is I have been left with two sets of holes in the rack, does the rack normally come with the holes plugged as I am sure they will let in water?

Are you supposed to put the screws back in?

Plus I don't have it but I believe there is a clamp, which is for what, fixing the rack in the down position?

Advice please

there are 2 holes in the top rail of the rack that bolt thru to the corresponding holes on the grab rail, there are also 2 holes in the top edge of the fold down part of the rack that come with chrome plastic grommets that push fit in them.

the small plastic clip that comes with a new GTs is to stop the rack rattling and is meant to be used when the rack is empty and clips the rack together in the upright position, if this clip is used to lock the rack in the down position it will be ok for a while but will eventually ping off or break, better to find an alternative way to hold rack down permanently like a couple of jubilee clips Cool

Thanks for the reply, I have four holes in total, I wonder what the chances of me getting some of these chrome grommets are?

Now that I know what the clip is for I am not sure that I need one as the previous owner dougl65 looks to have cured the problem as I have a bit of rubber padding stuck on to stop any clattering of the rack on itself.
