|
|
Hi all
Just had my 600 mile service done and I asked the question regarding a high pitched singing/rappid ticking noise when the front brake is applied. the service mechanic said it is normal and is like that on his. Anyone know what this noise is and why isnt it curable. The back brake is fine so why not the front one?

got it in one, its the air inside the holes expanding with the heat produced by braking. _________________ revolution deathsquad! |

I've only had my scoot for 8 weeks, done only 1600KM and my brakes squeal like a bitch when first applied but it disappears after a minute or so. Don't know why but can't be wear surely. |

if it is a "squealing" sound rather than a "ticking" sound it could be that the noise is coming from the back of the pads, where they contact the pistons
a dab (yes just a dab) of copper grease on the back of the pad will sort it.
be careful, just a DAB and watch out that you don't get any anywhere else _________________
