Ok, Ive got the 600 mile service out of the way so now I can concentrate on finishing off running it in and then start to have fun.

The suspension seems basic to say the least and I have also noticed that the scoot corners nicley to a certain angle then falls in rather quickly.
First question is this normal for the GTS? could the sharp fall in be tyre related? and secondly is the aftermarket Bitubo suspension going to ease the situation or is it just £300 of needless upgrade. From the Bitubo specs there doesnt seem to be any compression or rebound adjustment on the rear units so not sure where the upgrade would really benefit.

First of all what tyres are you running on your GTS? Mine used to wallow and twitch into every bend there was when I had Sava tyres on, I switched to Michelin Pilots and also went for the larger size on the rear and since then cornering is great Laughing Laughing

I'm no lightweight and so far the need to change the suspension has not crossed my mind but others on here may have different views? Wink

yep, as ian says if it doesn't have michelin pilot SPORTS (not city) on then get a pair on there, also put the rear shocks on the hardest setting, they are sooooo soft, next thing if that doesn't make it better is to fit a pair of uprated rear springs from SP4Y (keeping the std shocks) and have them on softest setting (which is rock hard Laughing )

tyres about £40 to £45 each fitted and balanced to a loose wheel (get them balanced, TELL them you want them balanced, WRITE "BALANCE" on some masking tape along with an arrow to show direction of rotation too. tell them it does 90mph and they need to be B-A-L-A-N-C-E-D)

springs from SP4Y about £45 pair http://www.scooterparts4you.co.uk/27099.html

theyre a nightmare those sp4y shock springs, theyre tooo hard.

when you put them on the hardest setting you have NO rear suspension.

unless you weigh half a ton.

I think Iv'e got a brand new pair of GTS Biturbo rear shocks brand new in the box somewhere.
I'll sell em cheaper than available anywhere, let me know via PM if you want me to hunt them out.

Lurker for a while, just getting round to posting now...
I really like what the front Bitubo did for me. riding around in NYC, I just didnt have the front wheel firmly planted enough in corners with bad pavement. The bitubo helped keep the front on the ground. The rear is still stock (for now) and with some zippy 1's the bike is feeling a bit more sticky.
The geometry seems to dictate the turn feel more than the suspension, but with a properly dialed in bitubo front I like the feel of the ride much better.YMMV.
