right here's the thing, i'd love to take my 5 year old son out on the back of the GTs, he's keen as mustard and Mrs Mav has been looking at helmets and all the gear for him, he's got the topbox to lean on and i'll get some of those handles on a belt things so he can hold onto me BUT his feet won't reach the footpegs for about another 10 years
anyone got any ideas?? _________________

Get him a pair of 70's platform shoes?
Seriously though, most little kids i've seen on the back of scooters put their feet on top of the side panels, might scratch the paintwork i suppose, but then you'd be able to convince mrs Mav that you need to get a new 300 |

i have seen a picture somewhere of a wide webbing strap put under the seat and used like stirrups............. don't know how legal something like that would be........
doubt rear crash bars with some sort of foot rest would be strong enough?
some side panel protection will be needed to stop any little feet scuffing the paint, good excuse to visit the signs man _________________

I was thinking along the same lines as the guy with the wood but more along the lines of a metal extention that could bolt on and off easily from the pegs.
I'd be tempted to go for a set of bike pegs like the ones below and couple a bracket to secure them to the original pegs

Blocks of wood - whatever next for godds sake
I think it is a legal requirement for the passenger to be able to touch the footrests provided by the manufacturer - point of note, this is where it all falls down as discriminatory toward short legged people hence the grey area of after market riser pegs.
I did watch a television programme once about a girl who had an operation to be stretched by a few inches, have you considered this instead?
Most blokes are capable of stretching themselves by a few inches anyway so probably wouldnt benefit from this kind of procedure
I did see a PX once that had some bracketry rigged up from the front seat bolts and that went down to form a folding footrest _________________

I'm sure you do know, Mav, but I stumbled upon this when looking to see if it was illegal to carry a drunk pillion.
"Pillion Passengers: No age limit but MUST be able to place both feet on the pillion footrests"
Not sure how strictly that would be applied.

You can get the child seats in the UK... although they aint cheap.
As for the footpegs falling apart, just pull the footpeg out and undo the 2 allen screws further back and the whole unit comes out in ya hand |
