Just Malossi, you are dead right about not going bigger.
Not without a different head anyway.
It is supprising what a difference it makes tho.

I had a Hiyabusa head in my hands on friday and started thoughts of chopping one end off to use but the cost with both cams is just silly money and then you gotta chop it up!
KX250 though is a different matter or some other twin cam single crosser top end for my own scoot would be fun.
Following in the Germans footsteps I know but awesome power, too much for the starter motor!
Lucky the Zip 125 sidecase fits with the kickstart.
I think it about 40bhp at the back wheel! Very Happy

Russ.

OK engine is back in the frame and have ran it up on the bench, had a tinker with the mixture and got it to stop popping back on over run through the PM exhaust.
No warning light from the dash so all seems well so far.
Still not using the PM box of trickery. (box still unopened if anyone wants it)
Seems well quick to pick up but then it would with no load.
Have to see if I can get it on a dyno in the morning then might shake it down to belgium and back.
I'll be taking it with a burger filter fitted straight on to the throttle body (as it is now) but taking a standard airbox which has burger fitted inside which shouldn't soak any water up and will be nearly just as good we hope.
Polini Vari and Malossi belt fitted along with the bigboy back tyre and a few other transmission tricks.
See if we can't give one or two 172's a run for there money.

Russ.

Well Iv'e been for a quick blast and am impressed, don't know how it compares to Phil's yet but it is damn quick.
Dyno booked for first thing in the morning so will have a proper go after that, then maybe Belgium on it.
Rode it to a local bike shop that has all the remapping gear but they say its a ROM chip not an EPROM so can't shift the rev limiter up easily without swapping chips about which still may happen if needed.
The big back tyre seems to have done the job as its not hitting the limiter yet and it shoots off the mark like a scolded cat.
James just had a cheeky go while I was writting this and reports an indicated 92mph and still pulling when he ran out of road, he's predicting an indicated 100 mph easily.
No more now til dyno time as I think we are over fueling now.
Must get some earplugs for Belgium me thinks! Very Happy

Just got back from Dyno, Results are encoraging but not breaking out the bubbly just yet.
Can confirm the purple rollers are too light as the misfire we thought we had was acually us hitting rev limiter during acceleration. (about 10 meters away from standing)
Compared the dyno results with Phil's as he used the same Dyno and we have beat him on BHP and substancially beat him on torque but I know we can do better so we are currently messing about with induction/filters and putting 13g rollers in then going back over in about an hour for another dyno run before I decide which scoots going to Belgium.
James is out right now testing rollers out with his "arse dyno" (stick your arse on the seat and ride) Very Happy
I'm like a kid on christmas eve, what with the excitment of the GTS and Belgium together.
Need a chill pill I reckon.
I was right about us over fueling and we still may use the PM box to control fuel at tickover and low throttle positions (closed circuit) but our open circuit mixture is now spot on (full throttle).

Still playing with it Phil but our first go this morning saw .75 hp over your results which is why I say not breaking out the bubbly just yet.
Don't forget that bhp isn't everything and our torque was about 2ft/pound over yours which will make a hell of a difference on the road.
Gonna take it back with some different intakes and filters this afternoon if we and they have time.
My gut feeling at the moment is not to take it to Belgium because of the small amout of road time and testing it's seen.

Russ.

No, Malossi 13g Rollers but due to the different spec our roller weight requirements will probably be different anyway.
I just wanted to stop it hitting the rev limiter whilst getting to top speed and we may play with rollers again once we have max power out of the head work we have done.
I'm also starting to think about what freestyler said on scooter-scene about bigger throttle bodys.
Got a feeling we are now restricted by the internal bore of the stock body so will look into this after Belgium.
Wev'e had 19hp out of our 210cc VX 125 but this was with a 34mm carb!
What we all have to remember is that the whole Minerelli/Weber system was designed bespoke for piaggio to do a certain job and no more or less.
You coming to Belgium Phil?
Race Ya.
