does the 300 (278cc) engine use the same engine casing as the 250?
(i know it uses a longer stroke crank)
i'm doing a full engine rebuild at 30,000 miles and i'm thinking of bolting the 300 barrel, piston, and crank into the thing as well as replacing all the bearings and seals. _________________ revolution deathsquad! |

Also wouldn't you also need an ecu remap and could that be done, or does it even have a bigger throttle body?
Lots of things to ponder over. _________________

From the part number side of things, its all different even the crankcase.
But without having both apart and trying to see if bits can be made to fit its an unknown really... im sure it wont be long until someone does it. |

hmmm, i hate the look of the 300 but want the engine.
it doesnt say anything on their engines site so, if it can't be done, i'll go tune my 250. _________________ revolution deathsquad! |

Do it!
I've still got that induction kit laying around. If you want it, I can bring it to whitby. Add a PM box, and you've got +2 bhp instantly! _________________

not gonna tune it till it's re built though. its probably got about 13hp now when it used to have 16.... it feels really sluggish, i think its all coked up in there.

As a matter of interest, why are you having to a full rebuild after only 30k? I would have thought modern engine, modern oils etc, it should have lasted a lot longer.
If yours is typical, there must be plenty down london that are used for commuting that would be knackered after only 2 years or less. |
