hiya mate. because the engine on a gts is quite heavy the bikes are really hard on rear tyres

i decided on a michelin pilot sport in winter. it gripped so well.

i decided on a hard compound tyre for summer so it was last abit longer, the grip was crap and the tyre wore out just as fast.

im back on a michelin pilot sport. you cant beat them and on moto tyres there cheap as well Cool

I changed my Sava factory fitted tyres after 3500 miles ish, the rear was worn out, changed to Heidenau racer, done another 3500 miles ish, only half worn out on the rear, had these tyres on Lammys in the past, good tyres, and fairly cheap, very high speed rating too, SIP scooter shop Germany will mail them 2u, or find some in your area?

Smirnoff, you know a bit about GTSs, what about filling the rear tyre with some sort of lighter than air gas? lightening the rear end? Wink

I brought some original Piaggio air back from my holiday in Italy, as I like to keep my bike standard. Must ask Cheeky Thomas if there's a part number for it, so that I can get it here in the event of a puncture Very Happy Very Happy

Vee Rubber.
Cheap as chips.
I've got Vee Rubber on the rear of my bajaj, px, t5, yamaha majesty, ect. and gts.
They seem alright as road tyres but did not do well in scootering's track test.
I suppose it depends how hard you ride your scooter.
The 10" tyres are 4 ply so the side wall's are twice as strong as S1's ect. so you get more time to get your feet down when you get a puncture.
You'll only get about 2500 miles out of a rear tyre so why spend loads on one?
A cheap tyres better than a bald tyre.

couldn't agree less! Wink

a cheap tyre's a more likely funeral more like Razz

unless you're saying you get the same grip on a vee as you get on a pilot/conti etc then go for the best grip tyre or get a car - its a 3 and a half grand bike to start off with, why take a risk with a tyre costing 10 quid less?

I did say they didn't do so well on the track test.
I've used them with no problems but as I said its down to how hard you ride your scooter, after all their not sports bikes.
I do agree that at speed I wouldn't be throwing it into corners [or would I]
but for commuting they are fine.
