Any tips for removing the wheels? Gonna get the front and rear tyres changed to Conti Twists, but it's £40 cheaper if I take in the loose wheels.

What do you do to support the bike without any wheels on?? Confused

I guessing this is obvious but I'm new to this getting my hands dirty thing. It was always dead easy on my PX...

Remove exhaust, bolt at front, torx head at rear. remove bolt holding bottom of shock, 2 allen bolt at front of alloy bracket, split pin, nut and spacers from middle of rear wheel{make sure these go back in the right order}pull bracket/mount off. If you twist the shock it will clear.
Undo the 5 allen bolts and pull off rear wheel.
Front is just the 5 allen bolts. EASY. use copper slip on bolts when putting it back together.
Leave it on main stand, rear should stay clear of ground, put some old tyre's under front hub.
It took me longer to write this than it would to get your wheels off! Rolling Eyes

Thanks Very Happy

I know I'm a bit dumb at this but I've always had company cars until I got the scootering bug, so I'm a bit backward Embarassed about what to do with such things but more than willing to give it ago.

It took me longer to write this than it would to get your wheels off!

having bought new conti twist,s a few month,s ago i thought yesterday would be the ideal time to fit em as off on holiday now....now im not thick having worked on scooters for nearly 30 year,s....read all the advice given on here and thought piece of piss 1/2 hour job tops....yeah right....think my gts must have been last off production line on a friday afternoon, no copperslip, thread grease anywhere, hour and a half later zorst off, split pin 45 mins to get out, half hour for shocker and bracket removel, wheel,s not to bad, and then the fun started....yellow pages out rang about 8 tyre fitting places in darlington to be told we dont fit tyre,s to them thing,s (even one of them was recomended to me by a mate who,d had two fitted the month b4 on his gts) one place round the corner (croxdales)looked at the scoot and said "what, fit em that"??? prick. anyway last resort george millers "yup bring em down mate" 20 mins later job done, so if you live in darlington area george millers the man for the job....g Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
