Hiya, me being a GTS novice. Do I need a mudflap for the back??

Been looking at em on fleebay, don't wan't to order one if I don't need one or it's going to look hideous? Ken fit a mean? Rolling Eyes

O and came across pic of black GTS 250 on google, with red pipping on seat and red air vents on the side Cool as fook! Anyone ever put on red air vents, I assume they were removed or can you buy red ones. I could send someone the pic via e-mail. Sorry tried to upload photos but I just can't do it

Shocked

I always had mudflaps on my motorbikes. They saved all, or most, of the crud from getting onto/into the frame and other parts of the engine. However, the GTS has a good underbelly cover and I didn't bother with a front mudflap, but as for a rear mudflap, it will prevent vehicles behind you from being hit with crap from your rear wheel, but I don't think it'll do much else. The inside of the rear number plate prevents anything from being thrown up and onto the your back as you ride anyway. So it depends on what the flaps look like. Some stripey ones look awful.
It'll be a personal choice for you.

This is what I was thinking about. I'll know more once I have the actual scoot, but your opinions do help

Claire its your scooter darling, but i dont think the GTS needs a mudflap as the rear mudguard comes quite low down. I have ridden behind my brothers GTS and you dont get hit by his road spray. But its your choice mate.

First rule of scooter ownership - it's your scooter, sod what anyone else thinks of it.

My motto is: if you don't like the way my scoot looks f*ck off and find another to admire, there's plenty out there.

Go for it Claire, only you can decide if you like it or not.

ahhh it's been a while since I've been called darling Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Thanks for that, was more worried about damaging the paint work if I ran without one, than what other people think. It is good to hear peoples opinions, I wan't to put my mark on the bike and make it different but there is fine line between cool and over the top shitness!

Very Nice loving it!

Loving the black and silver plate, I considered ordering black and silver plate but I don't want any more cops pulling me over.

How did you attach it? Just using No plate holes?

Thanks

I've just ordered the mudflap, also ordered red tyre paint.
Can only but try - if it looks crap I'll take them off, but it might just look sweet and unique a bit like myself Laughing Laughing Laughing

Im thinking of getting one, was out Sunday and my rear rack and bodywork under it were covered in dirt... my mate following says in the rain a massive water jet comes up from the rear tyre and comes down over the back of my scooter! Only thing is, the flap will rub against the little tailpiece wont it?
