I've got a couple of mates running Pollini's but I fancy a J Costa just to be different.Iknow a few on here have fitted them so any feedback on how there going would be great.Got a PM and springs on the way so at least it won't sound like a hairdryer for much longer. Wink Mick.

I like it, although I've never ridden a pollini equiped gts so cant offer comparison between the 2, but has added a bit of extra nip + top end done about 2.5k miles so far no issues.

Have you seen the review in scootering? They rated the Pollini the best buy but this was with the J Costa @ full retail price of £200, I piad about half that delivered.

Check out Carpimoto an Italian site cheapest around when I got mine.

I had a Costa on my GT200, and it was the best performance mod of all that I tried. It didn't increase the top speed (as the Polini is supposed to do), but gave beautiful acceleration and made the scooter great fun to ride.

But my GT also had a PM exhaust, Malossi clutch springs (yellow), Malossi camshaft and larger main jet..

I have fitted a Polini to my new GTS250, and didn't notice any increase in top speed (as per the Scootering review), but much better acceleration. Also have the white Malossi clutch springs, but still have a slight hesitation at take-off. Will substitute the yellow springs next tme I am in there.

So go with the Costa. I am certain you won't regret it.

Mike

Thanks for the feedback lads.Think I'll give it a go.By the way Mike by throttle lag do you mean the first quarter turn where nothing happens,a real pain when your trying to balance throttle at low speed in heavy town traffic.Mick.

No, Mick, I am just referring to hesitation at take-off. When I snap the throttle open as the lights change, the scooter goes OO-er-AAAARRRGH. I want it to just go AAARRGH! Yes, I know, with a PM it would make a much nicer sound.

An automatic has that dead area when the clutch doesn't know what to do at very low speed. The Malossi clutch springs make this happen at slightly higher speed, but not a real problem. I don't get stuck in that sort of traffic very often.

Mike

I have had a stock variator, a J.Costa, and a polini in my GTS.
The polini wins for all around riding, IMHO.
If I only stuck with the roads around NYC/Brooklyn, I probably would have just left the 'costa in there. Great off the line... but the polini is just so much nicer on the fast roads, cruising at 65 and then needing to get up to 80 right away.. the polini does it, the costa does not.
Both were run with a booster box and a leo vince pipe. GPS showed 89.2 top speed with the polini. Showed 87 with the costa and I was hitting the limiter every 2 seconds with the costa at that speed. Like a nasty little elf hitting the kill switch every couple of seconds...
