Dont panic once done that it hunts and stalls and runs lumpy for the first few minutes.... its just the ECU adjusting to find the min and max borders for fuelling... it soon settles down |

A brilliant idea. Didn't do a bleeding thing but inspired all the same. I really thought it would work.
I guess until I get my larger back tyre I am doomed at 82 mph. No tooting as you fly past me!!! |

I would think more about getting a new drivebelt than a tyre... it must be dying fast if it can only do 82mph... a new tyre aint gonna help that. |

How is the LV two up?
Had been thinking about getting one, but don't really want to upgrade the shocks....
Anyone tried? _________________ |

disconnect battery, leave a few mins (cup of tea and a fag) reconnect, start engine and let idle for 10mins, ecu "learns" new pipe |
Gah! Didn't know this. Same procedure for when putting the original pipe back on to my MP3 then? Would love it if the performance has been poopy because it thinks there an LV on there and there isn't. _________________ Do two and 1/4 rallies mean I'm not a scoot noob anymore? |

Guys, I thought this was just a short cut. Resetting the ECU just means it learns about the new exhaust faster. It will adjust over time if you don't do the reset. That was my understanding...
Cheeky T is the man for the definative answer though I guess. _________________

You'd have thought it would learn "on the job" - well I did
I'm almost hoping there is a 'trick' though - either that or it's time for a trip to a known-good-mechanic for a tune up _________________ Do two and 1/4 rallies mean I'm not a scoot noob anymore? |

Thats what I'm saying Dave, the disconnect the battery thing is, as I understand it, just a quicker way of getting the ECU to learn the best settings 4 a new exhaust. You've had the original exhaust on since b4 Liege, yes? so it should have learnt about it by now.
But like I said Cheeky is the man for the definative answer.... _________________
