with tyres it's a trade off between grip & tyre life.
a grippy tyre will wear out quicker than a long lasting tyre which will be harder and less grippy......
each to their own.
i'd love a grippy tyre that lasted forever and only cost a fiver but wouldn't we all
pilot sports for me, proven, happy with the cost
avon vyper strike????
didn't rainham boy have one of those on the rear wheel for cobblestone?? delaminated, tread parted company with the carcass??? rings a bell _________________

Ive never had a avon tyre on anything ive liked...
Its not all about grip with tyres though, you also need feedback and predictability.... i would certainly pick a michelin over a avon anyday, even for a pram |

had a stryke on the runner and was verry poor no grip in the wet and not much better in the dry
the tyre that was on for cobblestone was a conti twist think it got a cut in it some how, not too confident with them either _________________ Darkside, Norwich Broadsmen SC

Like Ive said before I like Heidenau, not expensive, pretty hard wearing, etc, but a lot of the scooter racing lads are using Dunlops now. _________________ GTS250 its the future!!! A club wi owt a name sc. Bamberbridge. |

We stock Pirelli, Michelin and Metzler... but can order any
We stock more Pirelli as i like them more and moan when we get anything else in as its me that fits them
As for the £50 bit... thats because you didnt ask me for a price
And yes i know youve got pilot sports... i fitted em today! |

I've got Avon Storms on the TDM900 and they are fine......dunno what they are like on a scoot mind!
They are the only supplier as far as i'm aware that will replace a tyre if you puncture it within the first 1mm of wear though. |
