I think my belt needs replacing as the scooter was revving loads going up the hills on the way to Woolacombe this weekend then it would suddenly engage with a bit of a squeek! How much do you think it will cost to replace the belt and rollers?

You can buy service kits on ebay that start at £43 and include rollers, guides and belt and more (they state genuine parts), think its though PSN scooters ebay shop. I have not used one myself or priced up with a main dealer but expect others have.

Booked the beast in at my local Piaggio dealer today, new belt and rollers with fitting and VAT £132. Looking forward to seeing the difference on Friday, apart from my wallet being lighter!

My local dealer charges £120 for a basic service (oil n filter change) so £132 is not so bad. It is obviously cheaper to do the job yourself and club together with others to get the required tools, which is a must where i live. I would not trust my local dealer to change the plug!!! Laughing

Not used to paying dealer prices Mont?

I paid £116 for basic service so would think £132 for belt & roller change is about right.

I am but a belt and rollers change will take 1 hour max

even in London the labour costs are around £45 an hour

so that means the belt and rollers cost £90 Shocked

Yeah don't forget the dreaded VAT. Mad

I've only had the GTS since June and don't want to bugger it up just yet by doing it meself! Seeing as it's my main form of transport.
