The roads down here in the forest are crap, lots of potholes and bumps. What Im finding is the GTV feels harsh over the little bumps but very soft on the big ones!

It seems to jar the spine then you get into a long fast but undulating corner and its po-going about the place Laughing On my PX I fitted sebacs and a taffspeed uprated rear spring and its better than the GTV.

Read about the SP4Y rear springs but everyone says they way too hard. I do tend to ride it 2 up most of the time and the setting is on number 3... dont really want to go to 4 as 3 is harsh enough... any suggestions?

I think lower tyre pressure for the small bumps, suspension for the larger ones.

But you don't want to adjust them just for one bit or road, so I agree - find a different route!

Small wheels will often give a harsh ride as a larger percentage of the wheel enters the potholes etc... the standard shocks are very soft to be comfortable so if your finding them harsh at slow speed you will never find anything softer... all the aftermarket stuff will be even more aggressive.

How old is the bike?? The single sided front end is prone to the pivots seizing up, which makes the suspension feel harsher than normal... stand over the bike like youve been riding and stopped at the lights with both feet down, without using your bodyweight, hold the front brake and push the suspension down... it should move easily and freely, if it judders or doesnt move easily then somethings starting to bind.

If you have SP4Y springs fitted youve got no chance of ever knowing as nothing moves once there fitted anyway... Laughing

Cheers, its brand new! My main thing is the bouncing and it bottoms out a fair bit 2 up. Riding solo its great... so if I ditch the wife and find a different route Im sorted Laughing

What you have to remember to do is to wind up the preload when taking a passenger... thats the main reason for them...
