Hi guys thanks for info on Vespa Gts250, took advice and looked at Gilera Nexus 300 to my suprise it has a 15' front wheel whereas 250 has 14. the Gts running weight is 148 kg with 21 bhp, the Nexus is 182kg with 22 bhp, but i like the fact it is faired and would poss be better for long trips as it also has a 15 litre tank. What does the panel think cheers jimmey g |

I know and like a few peeps on here with Nexuses (or should that be Nexi???) so I wont tell you what I think of them, can see why you'd get one if it was the 500 and you want the POWER, otherwise makes no sence to me, GTS every time... _________________

The Nexus is a good bike , but why are you concerned about the diameter of the front wheel? The extra tank size is a plus but any extra hp is wiped out by the increase in weight. The aerodynamics will allow higher cruising speeds but if you need that much speed perhaps the 500 would be more suitable? _________________ Vespa 300 super BSA Bantam, pushbike |

it is totally unfair to compare the nexus with a GTS.......there like chalk and cheese........the GTS is more scooter like and the nexus has the handeling of a motorcycle.......ive had both........it depends want you want.....if i was going for a nexus i would bypass the 300 _________________

tank capacity is bigger on the nexus yes but i generally need a break after 100miles so a fuel stop to fill up the GTs is just the ticket _________________

Well as we are on the GTS owners forum, it is pretty obvious what the general consensus will be
It all boils down to what YOU like
If traditional looks & handling with a modern twist are your thing, then yes, GTS all the way
If you don't mind bike looks with more comfort & better touring/handling capabilities, then it's got to be the Nexus
You pays your money ......... _________________

Jimmy, I've had the Nexus 300 since sept, brilliant can't fault it. theres always going to be the scooter not a scooter debate especially on here. As others have said "it's your choice " , personally I don't give a flying fook what I ride as long as it does what i want it to do, and the Nexus 300 does just that. theres a huge difference in the GT range and the Nexus range. The 500 has more power but its nearly 20 kg heavier and obviously not as nimble , they all use the same chassis. Depends if you are happy lolopoling along on a piece of old tin with little wheels ??. As for performance .. you could always add a £300 quid pm pipe variator and rollers , power commander , set you back another £400 quid for that lot and be no better than an extra 3 mph or go on a diet loose 3 stone if your a fat fucker and go 10 mph faster anyway. It won't cost u £700 notes and you'd save on your food bill. and the Nexus 250/300/500 would still be in front.
You make ya choice mate.
okay okay i'm leaving .....LMAO |
