Right I've had the assesor round to see the nexus. hes classed it as a cat d write off and h asked how much I paid

I told him £2250 and he said he would go away and do some figures. got a phone call the next day saying he could give me that price for it. salvage would be about 10% so roughly 2 grand for it.

Bear in mind I payed £1400 for it. top box, heated grips, lock and chain

So what to do now. the forks are slightly twisted but I'm sure they can be sorted easily.

The bike has just been serviced and had new rear led indicators, 2 new tyres etc so mechanically its fine.

it also needs some engine covers a mirror £100 odd pound and a few niggly bits.

The scoot is still in use atm so its not bad but the forks really need to be done

What budget do you reckon I should leave myself. I was thinking of spending £500 on it to get it on the road and use it for a few years. the scoot will also need a belly panel but thats not essential

what do you reckon. I got a lot more then I paid so I'm not bothered spending some money on it. as at the end of the day its a runner.

Ideas on a postcard

ps i will still have what i paid for the scoot and it fixed.

Get the forks fixed and leave it at that, use it as a workhorse then use the money to buy something nice for high days and sundays. Idea

I'd go with that as well, or sell it as it is for repair and buy yourself something else so you don't have the hassle of fixing that one.

Get a proper price for the salvage... if its only 10% your very lucky and buy it, even if you dont want to keep it, a driveable accident damaged nexus is worth far more than what you would be paying for it... just ebay it.

But i doubt youll get it for 10% to be honest... get the exact prices, costs charges etc and repost the details.
