Hi all,
Didn't know where to post this one, not really GTS but related. Maybe someone out there can help.

A friend has fitted a Vespa GT 200 top end to a GT 125 engine.
The engine has been rebuilt, the only difference being the 200 top end and the rollers, which for a 125 are 7.5 grms. he has replaced them with 15 grms. rollers.

The bike accelerates really well (nearly as good as my 300 GTS), but tops out at about 110 Km/h whilst sounding extremely over revved.
It definitely doesn't feel like you'd want to do any long distances at that speed/configuration.

Any ideas what should/could be done to correct this??

Cheers in advance,

Mick

A gear up kit would be the best and easiest option... about £60 retail from malossi.

Cheers for the quick reply Cheeky. Is it simply just "taller gearing" straight out of the packet or does it involve trial and error testing (a bit like when setting up a Lambretta gear box)??

Taller gearing straight out of the packet... its a replacement set of cogs for the final drive... unbolt, replace and refill with oil and jobs done. Very Happy
