Family camping in France.............
who's done it? can you recommend anywhere?
we plan to do it next year, driving over using ferry or tunnel, taking our own tent etc, just need some advice / pointers from folks who've done it. _________________

the general cenus on the T4 site is just find places when you get there of if you have a van park in beach carparks! |

Done it in Burgundy but its very rural and quiet there. I would say check out the campsites around lake Annecy and the town of Annecy. Its a stunning medieval town in the Alps. A good tip would be to take a look at a cheap motel chain called Formule1 or Etap ( have a look at their websites). You get a great room that sleeps 3 for about 30 quid. Annecy is around 500 miles from calais but nearly all of it is Motorway so can easily be done in one stint. PM me if you want more info. _________________

Can definately recommend the above, my wife has some french friends that live there and has visited them several times, i ve seen the photos and the place looks stunning. im going for the first time this summer _________________ D.C.F.C. Come on u Rams!!!! |

Brittany for me ( not the singer !!) I've lived over there both in the South and the North and I can safely say Brittany has some of the best campsites I've ever used and leave British campsites way behind with the cleanliness, places to visit are Carnac, Benodet, Quimper, One camp site in particular is La Camping Point St Gilles which is spot on, best I've stayed on - see link

used to go to picardy (keycamp job) great for kids st valery, dint bother wi dover job ,did the hull /zeebrugge(only about 90mins from calais anyway),an intermarche, great for beer,oh an food |
