A couple of weeks ago I was just off to work and the scoot wouldn't start.Starter turned over but engine wouldn't fire.In the end I just pushed the starter for about 7or8 seconds till it coughed a bit, gave a touch of throttle and away it went. Not happened since but made me take the advice on here about checking the battery.I'd have been knackered if it had died.So I did it last Thurs, topped it up to the correct level, put it back and everything was tickity boo till last night. Now the scoot always pops since I've had a PM esp when cold and sometimes after a run the tickover runs at a bit higher,4 bars instead of the usual 3.Always settled back down pretty quickly tho so I didn't worry.Last night when I got home from work,15 miles,it was ticking over at 5bars. Then when giving a bit of throttle and shutting off it had a very little rev of its own.Tried it a couple of times and it did it again. Shocked So this morning I did the weekly check, tyres, engine oil, trans oil, coolant. Then I took the little plastic bulbs off the bottom of the air filter. The back one was clean and empty but the front one was full of water. Not heard of that one before. Rolling Eyes Anyway, did the battery disconect thing and started up.Seems ok,tickover normal so I'll see tomorrow going to work.Just don't know how water got in there.

My 250 did this when the sparkplug wire was slightly loose in the plug cap...

Worth a check and costs nothing.

Engine gets warm, engine gets cold, condensation forms drips off the air filter foam into the clear bulbs?

Back to its normal lovely self today.Checked the plug cap before I set off, seemed ok.Condensation thing sounds logical, just never heard of it before.Only heard of oil from the breather, even had it before the last service.Anyway thanks for the interest. Very Happy

Hi guys , in last few weeks my gts starts first time then cuts out , rides ok,then when slowing down cuts out again until its warmed up, the scoot has only done 3500 miles on a 56 plate, i checked the clear plastic bulbs as mentioned on previous post and noticed that there was oil in the rear one -is this normal. Once the scoot is ran for a few miles it runs as normal, any ideas before i take it into dealers , cheers

The oil in the bulb comes from the engine breather that goes into the air box.Hows it running now you've emptied it.Might be worth changing your filters.

Yep changing the air filter is an idea, and cheap too, maybe the old filter is damp with all the wet weather leading to condensation getting into the bulbs?

The filters are washable foam type, so wash in a suitable cleaner, then reoil and refit... try to use a proper foam filter oil, although normal engine oil can be used, just sags a little more....
