i'd have one there ready in-case you need a new one and change it if you do
if it's not damaged, don't change it and put the new one on the spares shelf _________________

The manual says yes. I would remove the exhaust as a complete unit at the cylinder head. Two 10mm brass nuts and you will need some sort of flexible extension. |

You should change it technically, but in reality you can judge it when it's apart, if you can see it's starting to delaminate and break up, then change it... If it looks solid leave it and fit it next time it's off. |

A side question; on a new GTS are piaggio using brass nuts to prevent them seizing liek they did on my 2006 250? _________________

Theyve had brass nuts on all 250s ive ever seen... doesnt stop them siezing, just helps... they would be better if they were domed type so no thread was exposed as thats where the problem lies... |

If it doesn't stop them seizing then it probably is a good idea to remove them once in a while....
My 300 has them, two punctures so far in the last five months grr. |

If you are having the tyres taken off the wheels I would change them now. The savas are shit especially in wet weather. The Pirelli GTs which come as standard on the 300 are a really nice tyre. moto tyres seem to be a good source. |
