I know this has probably been covered over many threads so I apologise.
I’m nearly coming up to 6000 miles, about end of Feb, so thought I would phone up the main dealer in Manchester (I’ve fallen out with my nearest one in Oldham and the one in Rochdale doesn’t yet have a diagnostic machine)
So when I phoned to ask the price, I was asked which service I wanted. I told them 6000 miles. I was then told that puts me right between the two service intervals of 6000km and 12000km.
I said I understood it that the service interval is just every 6000miles now, “No” was the reply, but you can have which ever service you want. They even suggested I have the 6000km one now (£130) then later in the summer have the 12000km (£260), when they would check the valves and change the belt and rollers. But that would put my belt well past its due change then. (So that would be £390 of service within about 6 months)
I was thinking of just having the big service done as that is what I was expecting at my mileage anyway. Does £260 sound about right for parts and labour?
Could it be possible Piaggio/Gilera have not passed on the 6000 mile service interval on to all the dealers, or are they just trying to get more work off there customers.
Also when in for a service should it be automatically be plugged into the diagnostic machine as a matter of course, to check for any problems or updates. _________________ Gilera Fuoco 500ie

They clearly don't know the service schedules...
The 400/500 from E3 models have a 10,000km service interval... so theres no 6000km or 12,000km service at all....
You should be following...
1st service @ 1000km (625miles) or 4 months
2nd service @ 10,000km (6250 miles) or 12 months
3rd service @ 20,000km (12,500miles) or 24 months
And as you have a Fuoco.... it has a drivebelt each and every service Wink
Yes you should always connect the diagnostic box during a service for updates, parameter resets etc etc... |

If you head to the main forum page, then the GTS Manuals section, youll find in there the Fuoco workshop manual...
...page 37 is the start of the maintenance section. |
