I've had one on my GTS since January and it stops the scoot hitting the rev limiter. Not sure how because its only wider, not higher than standard? It works though and I've done a good few miles on it. Didn't notice any other difference, apart from the obvious grip compared to standard but I'd only done a few miles on the scoot when I changed the tyres and it was the middle of winter. _________________ I love hairdryers...

The 140 Pilot Sport, bought from Rev & Go just because of the annoying rev limiter. _________________ I love hairdryers...

The 140 tyre IS taller as well as wider than a 130. 140/70/12, the 70 refers to the aspect (height) being 70% of the width. 70% of 140 is more than 70% of 130.
Did you get more top speed with the 140? _________________ Leave Luck To Heaven |

We measured the diameter of the two at Russ's shop and there is a bout a 7% increase over the 130.... therfore a 7%ish gear up, that is why the rev limiter is moved. _________________

Does anyone know if there are any issues putting a 140 on the front as well? I know the handling will change somewhat, but it would be nice to be able to rotate them.

It will rub the fork leg most likely as that is a jump of 20mm, the front being 120/70-12 not 130/70-12 like the rear.
The 140/70-12 works like a dream for the most part. _________________ Creator of the fastest VESPA GTS in the world!....(until proven otherwise!) |

Thanks, I'll probably go 140 rear 130 front when the time comes.

Ah ha I get it now! Not sure if it increased top speed or not, I'd only had the scoot a couple of weeks when I had the new tyres on so wasn't really used to it. I did leave another GTS though going to Cleethorpes and it's much less annoying now that you're not bouncing it off the limiter. _________________ I love hairdryers...
