Yes, the old faggot has arrived here too, after haunting ScooterBBS, ModernVespa and many other scooter forums.
I have been riding Vespas since 1959, a '57 GS150, a '61 GS150, Rally180, Rally200, P200, PX200E and now a GT200L. The Rally200 was a conversion of the Rally180. The PX200E was kitted with Malossi cylinder, PM exhaust and PHBH30 carb.
My GT is kitted with a Malossi variator, CDI, camshaft and clutch springs, a PM exhaust and Dr.Pulley sliders.
I ride with the Sydney City Scooter club, and occasionally with the Northern Beaches Scooter Club.
Expect I will find a lot of familiar faces here from ModerrnVespa forum.

Hi Mike, I recognise you from the modern Vespa forum.
I'd like to get your views on the Dr Pulley sliders at some stage. They claim better wear and performance, so I'm really interested in what you think.
Cheers from WA

I don't think this is the place to go into the technicalities of Dr.Pulley sliders, so I am starting a new topic under Tuning.
And thanks for the welcomes.

Although you ride a Twist-and-Go scooter, it still has a clutch. But it is an automatic one and is hidden at the back end of the transmission case. It's purpose is to allow the engine to get up some revs before transferring the power to the back wheel.
Or were you just being a comedian?
Mike
OK, Outlaw, I've just looked at your other posts and realised that "What's a Clutch" is your signature. _________________ Vespa GTS250 Vintage Red |

Hello Sean, I see you have also been into scootering for quite a while, and also ride a GT.
Afraid I wouldn't be a candidate for any of the Bible study forums you enjoy, as I have been an atheist since I was 14 years old. But I am not a beer-swilling type either, as I am afraid too many of our Sydney club are for my liking. More a cappucino type myself.
Studied religion in my early years - read the New Testament twice, about a quarter of the Old, and a third of the Koran. Then read Buddhist, Toaist, Hindu, Anthroposophy, Scientology, you-name-it texts. And studied Astronomy, Psychology, Maths, Cosmology, Geology. Wanted to know what made the world (and people) tick!
As Omar Khayyam, the Sufi poet, put it
Myself, when young, did eagerly frequent
Doctor and saint, and heard great argument
About it and about. But ever came out
By the same door as in I went.
Now I mostly read Science and Science Fiction.

Hi Mike.
I'm joining your mob for beers on Tuesday night in Sydney.
Look forward to meeting you there. |

Sorry, but I don't join the club Tuesday evenings. I live an hour's journey out of the city, and I leave Philippa alone at home two nights a week as it is - chess club and Scottish dancing club.
So I just ride with the club on the first Sunday of the month.
But I am sure you will have a great evening, and will be able to ride pillion for the late night burn-up around the city.

Hi Mike
I was there last week.
I wasn't very sober, surprisingly for me.
I may very well pop over and join in some of the Lambretta 60th fun and games. Maybe see you there?
(And Marcelo was kind enough to haul my caboose around the city on his Lammie) |

Yep, we tested the route for the Lambretta 60th anniversary run this month, about 30 scooters, and Marcello is going to use the experience to tune the route a bit. He is anticipating around 60-70 scooters for the event. We need a couple more stopping places to re-assemble after traffic lights split us up.
So maybe see you on the anniversary run in October.
