The nut and bolt on my side stand seem to be welded together - how have you good fellows removed it? Big hammer? Angle grinder? I'd love the quick fix answer if possible Very Happy

"PUT THE HAMMER DOWN....STEP AWAY FROM THE ANGLE GRINDER"

remove spring first (2 springs really, one inside the other)

just one bolt, you need to use a 17mm spanner or socket, nut is captive, welded to side stand.

bolt has 2 'O' rings to keep grease on shaft.

if the bolt won't undo, soak the thread inside the nut end with some WD40 or similar and leave it to soak in for as long as possible and try again. (repeat every day for a week if you need to)

hope this helps Cool

No need to bump or grind after all. The job is done - the offending article is now in a box at the back of the shed. Thanks for the WD40 tip - without it I would have given up the fight.
Must have added at least .001mph onto the top speed now Very Happy
