This is why this forum is invaluable. I have also had the same problem as mentioned by Fishface, a low grinding noise when stop/starting in rush-hour traffic. My GTS is out of warranty now but it would be interesting to hear if anyone finds a solution. I presume that this problem is different from Maver’s bump bump scrape one. _________________ I could go on for hours and I probably will -

can you check the clutch shoes for wear
hopefully my noisy clutch will no longer be noisy as i tracked down the problem to the clutch bearings not the gearbox ones _________________

take the clutch bell off, usually theres a mountain of clutch dust is attatched to the bell.
blow the dust away with compressed air. dont blow it, you will end up with clutch dust all over your face
oh, and check that the clutch bell hasnt got and lumps or bumps on the contact surface where the clutch grabs.
brake cleaner works also as well. i havent had hte grinding noise since i started to clean out the transmission every so often. _________________ revolution deathsquad! |
