anyone else get a "scrape scrape" "rub rub"sound and vibration thru the buttocks when doing a slow right hand turn like when pulling away at a junction....?????

have checked everything i can think of,

had mate bounce up and down on it to see if anything touched...nowt....

thought it might have been worn/streched belt hitting the big roller thingy inbetween the pullys in the transmission, but had new belt & rollers, still does it....

changed scorpion for std pipe, still does it....

only thing i can see is bit of a rub on the rear hugger, but can't believe it can clash with the tyre......

I might have something similar...

only happens now and again, normally when I'm pulling away at lights etc (possibly due to right hand turn come to think of it?)

Its done almost 8500km and I was gonna wait for the 10k service to sort it out to be honest, assumed it'd be something to do with the rollers/belt/magic thing that makes it go etc

let me know what you find out, sorry i couldn't be more help but I'll look out for the right hand turns from now on!

my GTs is on 6500 miles

Mines does a similar thing , but normally if I'm pulling away quick, to the right and quite keenly... it's the very front mount on the Piaggio crash bars on mine.

Can ground it quite easily going rouns a roundabout.

The solution is simple. Fit a PM pipe, then you won't hear all these scrapes and rattles.

I'm pretty much alone in liking the look of the standard exhaust over the pm one... Confused

but anyhow, I wouldn't wanna invalidate the warranty anyway, though I'll probably go for one once the standard exhaust gives out

The noise of which you speak is being looked into by us this week and probaly next.
Both Goldies and our MP3 250's are doing it and it's making us scratch our heads bigtime.
It's due to some sort of side-play somewhere during power transfer from clutch/rear-pulley to the backwheel.
It'll be one of the bearings or something not lubed enough.
Were going to hunt this down very soon but havn't as yet.
It's not that third wheel thingy, well it still might be but can't see why at the moment after our first investigations into this noise.

Will re-post with any further news.

Thanks sweetie Wink

I started getting this after 6 months on my brand new GT125L , it only happens as I give it a little throttle from standstill, at first I thought I was getting wheelspin because I could hear a noise like rubber slipping on tarmac.
The bike rumbles and jerks at low acceleration and there is a loud grinding niose, but only at take off , it never happens when cruising.
i`ve had the bike to the dealer twice and he reckons that the pads are not making good contact with the bell housing within the automatic clutch and are slipping , thus causing the grinding noise and the jerking sensation.
His solution was to clean out the clutch assembly , and it did work for about a week, they cleaned clutch out again, and again, it came back, so I will be asking for a new clutch before the warranty expires in 5 months , £3000 is alot of money , so if your scoot is still in warranty , I advise you do the same before it becomes your problem and not the dealers.
Hope this helps.

Just took my bike back to the dealer to report this problem.

Only thing he could see was that because the tyre pressure on the back was so low he thinks it could be the centre stand scrapping on the ground.

Didn't feel like that to me but I'll wait for it to happen again and try and take more notice of what's happening next time. Confused
