| well ive snapped a fin on my variator and because the iow is coming up i dont want to shell out for a new polini one just yet so does anybody have a standard one knocking about just the fin side will do |

A polini variator isn't going to help you as its only the inner half of the pulley.
If I'm reading you right then you've just snapped a cooling fin off the outer half?
It does want replacing but if you had to use it for IOW then just do it as the only side effect may be reduced belt life.
It's unlikely to let you down.
