I left off work the other morning, pissing down with rain! fully suited up, start the gts, pull it off the stand, flump, it went down a lot lower than it usually does! doh! yep flat tyre, anyway the point of this post is, that the tyre was bald as hell and proberly the reason i got a puncture, but my mileage is only about 2000 miles! now maybe im being a scroodge but I thought i should be getting more than 2000 miles out of them bloody crap savas! so lets have a survey for the benifet of gts owners, what tyres do people use, what are they like and how many miles do you get out of em? I got a pirelli sl26 as it was a good price! (see im a scroodge!) _________________ Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

ok i had a long -ish chat with freestyler yesterday (mark from scooter scene)i went on my mexus and asked him to look at my front tyre he said GAV DO NOT EVER SCIMP ON TYRE'S ITS THE ONLY THING BETWEEN YOU AND THE ROAD i have got 7k out of my michelin pilot sports! mark could not beleive it!! he rides a KTM super dike as well as scooters and he has a rear tyre change every 3k on the duke! in his own words he said scooterists moan about the price of rubber then fit cheap tyre's on there scoot then go to a rally and spend £100 in the bar!! his final words were fit the best and change them when there worn _________________

dont get me wrong gav, I do know that the only thing between u and the hard stuff is a few inches of rubber! but the reason for my question is, that i wanted to know what the best tyre for grip and how long it lasts, I bought the sl26 cos i know they grip well and it was a tenner cheaper than the pilot, but i will find out how long they last aswell, I know good grippy sticky tyres will not last long, but everyone saying how crap them savas are, well 2000 miles just adds to the pain! maybe one day someone will make dual compound tyres for scoots! I would be well chuffed if i got 7000 miles out of a tyre, is 7000 miles normal for a pilot? _________________ Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
