i stripped mine out....
just drilled out the rivets, remove the bands, pull the tailpipe end off, then pull the baffle / inlet end off, put the old wadding in the bin, refit and re-rivet inlet / baffle tube end, pack with new wadding (or stainless scouring pads, worked for me ) pack them down hard with a bit of wood, refit tailpipe end and re-rivet, i used stainless rivets.
most bike shops have wadding in stock and Tesco do the "spontex" stainless scourers _________________

well the wading that was in my scorpion from the factory was like a half eaton candy floss so would have been about 50p
i would say the scourers were alot more expensive than the wadding (no idea how much wadding is and have forgotton how much the scourers were ) are they any better???? well until i strip mine out again (if i ever need to) i won't know how the scourers have lasted, but everything seems fine now 3000+ miles later. _________________
