GT, GTS & GTV Seats?
Are they interchangeable?
ie, does the seat from a GT fit a GTS/GTV visa versa? |

I can think of two good reasons for replacing a GTS seat with a GT seat and rack.
Firstly, the GT rack is far better at holding a topbox. Topboxes don't look right on a GTS carrier, and they rattle around.
Secondly, I like to sit in the middle of the saddle, and consequently don't like the hump in the GTS saddle. Allright, the GT saddle also has a hump, but it is much smaller.
One buys a GTV for the style, so why would one want to change it? Rather get a GTS in the first place if you don't like the saddle!

I have bought the GTV for it's style.
I love the seat and most of my riding will be local so it will be fine. I have bought a GTS seat from someone on ebay and will be getting it recovered in the same style and colour as the two piec seat to use on the GTV for long hauls. It will be more comfortable to shift around on. |

This is a self defeating argument - top boxes look wrong on every form of 2 wheeled transport known to man, and a few known to aliens probably! |

I am ahead of you all here. Years ago I purchased a second-hand GT rack and chopped it and tidied up the end. So when I want my GT to look stylish, I remove the topbox and fit the chopped rack. Takes about 15 minutes to switch over.
But most of the time I have the topbox on because of its convenience.
My old PX had a carrier with topbox fitted. But the topbox sat behind the saddle, not waving about in the air. Looked much better than the modern scooter topboxes.

Difference is I don't just use my scooter for posing.
I also use it for errands where I need some carrying space. Don't like a backpack when I am riding.

I'm sure it does, but not to me, I just use my back rack, find I can fit more on to a rack than I could fit into a top box to be honest, though a top box would be more waterproof.
would never use a top box to leave stuff in permanently if I had to park outside, in london at least ubnless you have somewhere safe to leave it they get broken into and contents (helmet) nicked pretty often |
