|
|
After being quoted £330(!) for a full service on my GT today I've decided to do it myself.
I've managed to get a variator holding tool from Beedspeed but they're out of stock of the clutch holding tool,
Anyone know where I can get, buy, borrow one from?
Thanks. _________________ 2004 Vespa GT125L

You dont need one.
2 Options... 1st is to be lashy and use a bolt through the locking hole (which is all the tool does really)
... Of you have a helper (or cable tie) just hold the rear brake on tight and you can undo the nut as its not that tight...
£300+ is a lot of £££ for a service... our fixed price full service on a GT200 is £169.99 and that includes Belt, Rollers and valve clearances.
It doesnt include the cost of brake pads if they are needed though as some do and some dont, depends how its ridden.
If youve got the variator tool youve got the important one. |

He quoted me that much for 2 days work inc parts belt, rollers, filters and all fluids changed. He was a Piaggio dealer, only one in my area, until last year when he gave up selling scooters. _________________ 2004 Vespa GT125L

Theres no need for the clutch tool really, as you can see, the only function it needs is to have 2 pins sticking into the case to lock the clutch drum... 2 8mm bolts or socket bars will do the same.... but using the brake is even better
2 days to do a service
Does he take regular naps |

using the rear brake is useless.
especially when the nut has been tightend buy your dealer with a windy gun.
the tool is great, i use the jettin one all the time.
cheaper than the piaggio one. _________________ revolution deathsquad! |

Brake method works fine... although if its been done on a airgun it might be a pain, but slap them for doing it if so...
Just use a small socket bar if not, does the same job as the tool and everyones got one. |
